Georgie is a contemporary jazz/r&b singer and vocal coach, composer, and arranger. She began her journey with extensive classical training under Kathleen Johnson (a pioneer of New Zealand Opera), having trained classically for 6 years and completing her grades through Trinity College to Grade 8, and being awarded “Most Promising Classical Vocalist under 21” by the Canterbury Music society, she decided to take music in another direction. To match her musical knowledge to her singing, she decided to study music: jazz in particular, to better understand music as a whole. She has now completed her degree: BMus Arts (Jazz Performance and Arranging). As a performer she has many projects and is an involved member of the Christchurch music scene. Aside from her regular weekend jazz gigs, some higher profile events have included being a feature artist for the North Canterbury ‘Sunday Sessions’, supporting singer for Stan Walker, and a finalist in the RDU band round up ’16.
